NAPPY CARE
AFTER USE
When dirty, remove solids and store in a dry dirty pail until the prewash. The dry pail should have adequate air flow (basket with lots of holes).
PRE-WASH
Every 1 to 2 days wash dirty nappies for 30 to 60 minutes at 40 to 60 degrees. Use a ½ dose of a suitable detergent. Some suitable detergents include:
- Biozet
- OMO
- Kin Kin Naturals
- Dirt Laundry Liquid
Pre-wash will need to occur every morning if you are using a night nappy. Store pre washed nappies in a dry pail until main wash. This is a separate pail to your dry dirty pail. The pail should have adequate air flow (basket with lots of holes).
MAIN WASH
Main wash all pre-washed nappies every 2 to 4 days for 2 to 3 hours at 40 to 60 degrees. The load needs to be ⅔-¾ full when wet for ideal agitation in a front loader, or a nappy ‘stew’ consistency in a top loader (this tends to be ½ to ⅔ full but machines vary). You can use small items to bulk the wash, such as baby cloths and tea towels.
Use a full dose of a suitable detergent.
DRYING
Line dry shells out of direct sunlight. When hanging, ensure that they are placed in a way that does not cause stress on the elastics.
Inserts can be dried in the dryer or on the line.
NOTE
Do not soak at any point. This will damage your nappy shell, create a drowning hazard and a breeding ground for bacteria.
Do not tumble dry your shells, place them in direct sunlight or wash above 60 degrees (this will cause them to delaminate).
GARMENT CARE
Follow the wash instructions on the care label.
